ABOUT ME

Pelinsu Çelebi

Hello there, My name is Pelinsu Çelebi. I was born on August 7, 1993, in the southernmost part of Turkey, Iskenderun (Alexandretta). I spent my formative years in this beautiful, cosmopolitan town known for its hospitality and remarkable cuisine until I turned 18. Subsequently, I relocated to Ankara, the capital, to study Industrial Engineering at TOBB University of Economics and Technology. During my studies, I was committed to exploring various career paths to identify my true passion. This exploration led me to participate in student associations as both a member and coordinator, and to engage in diverse competitions ranging from marketing to stochastic modeling and supply chain management. Through a combination of luck, diligent search, and an unexpected series of events, I discovered my passion for Data Science during my final internship. Following my graduation, I decided to further pursue this interest by applying for an MSc in Computer Science at Politecnico di Milano in Italy. I was admitted to the program in 2017 but had to take a break due to personal reasons, leaving only two exams and my thesis to complete. I have now been readmitted for the semester starting in September 2024 and aim to graduate as soon as possible. For the past three years, I have been working at TARGET Energy as a Machine Learning Engineer, and I was recently promoted to Senior Machine Learning Engineer. My primary work is on image classification, object detection, and semantic segmentation problems, and I continue to love what I do.

Beyond my professional background, I am deeply passionate about yoga. My journey with yoga began almost ten years ago when my doctor recommended it to alleviate my back pain caused by moderate scoliosis, a condition characterized by an abnormal curvature of the spine. Yoga has been immensely beneficial in managing scoliosis by improving flexibility, strength, and posture, which can help reduce pain and discomfort. Within a few weeks of starting yoga, I became dedicated to the practice, eagerly making time for it each day, even if it meant waking up at 5:00 am. Over the years, my commitment has only grown stronger After all these years, I took interest in various styles of Yoga, and I am planing to share the journey as I work on improving myself with my blog posts. Hence the name Yogingeneer!!
